The Mile

Miracle Mile is the four-block commercial spine of Coral Gables, running along Coral Way between Douglas and LeJeune. It was built for walking rather than parking: wide sidewalks, shade trees, and shopfronts at street level. The Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre anchors one end and City Hall sits near the other, and the restaurants fill from seven onwards. Coral Gables reads differently from the rest of Miami: lower buildings, more trees, and a Mediterranean Revival character the city has protected since the 1920s. It is a neighbourhood where people walk slowly, which is exactly the pace this boutique was built for.

What you will find here

This is the only boutique where Gelato e Macchiato has its own coffee bar at the front. That means two counters in one room: classic Italian gelato and specialty coffee first, with no alcohol anywhere near it, and the Quore range with real spirits behind. Families and children stay at the front; the 21+ range is served separately, which is why this is the boutique people bring their parents to. If you have come for an espresso and a scoop rather than for a cocktail, this is the room.

When to come

We open at 11 AM every day of the week. The quiet window is the early afternoon, before the Mile fills up for dinner; if you want a seat and an unhurried coffee, come then. Friday and Saturday we stay open an hour later, until 11 PM, which catches the crowd leaving the restaurants. This is not our late boutique. For that, Wynwood and Fort Lauderdale run past midnight; this one never set out to.

Parking and seating

There is no private car park, but Miracle Mile has legal street parking along its length and public garages a block away in either direction; often there is a space right outside. Inside there is seating for more than forty people, which is unusual for a gelato shop and is the reason this boutique works for an afternoon rather than a two-minute stop. You can come with the family, sit down, order a coffee and stay.
